Autumn Symposia 2009
This has been another successful program. Responses from both venues were positive
and we would like to thank all those who helped to make the days so interesting.
Firstly we would like to thank our speakers.
David I, well known to Delphi
programmers for many years, made the trip from the USA to outline the future directions
for Delphi and other related tools. It is reassuring to see real investment being made
in developing the Embarcadero product line of which Delphi is an important (at least for us) part.
Glenn Stephens explained what Cloud Programming is, and showed how it can be implemented.
Ann Lynnworth braved the Coffs Harbour floods to demonstrate ZaphodsMap, a free tool available to use instead of ini files.
Ann also talked about the approach her company has taken to web design and separating
page design issues from business logic.
Jason Tolley showed us techniques for creating embedded systems. These
techniques open embedded technologies to a wide range of applications previously
thought unsuitable.
Glenn Crouch gave us a demonstration of upgrading a project to Delphi Prism.
Thanks also to all those who donated products for the prize draw.
We would also like to thank our sponsors

Thanks for the work done by the committee, and in particular members from Sydney and Melbourne
involved with running the day.
And last but not least, to all those who attended and made the days
the successes that they were, THANK YOU.
